Achieve your goals by tapping into the power of intention
We all know that person, don’t we? That person that everything falls into place for. That person who always seems to get what they want. It looks effortless, and we often put it down to luck. But is there more going on than just luck, and we can all tap into that apparent effortlessness?
The power of intention means that whatever we focus our intention on is what we bring into our lives. Evidence suggests that what we expect is what is most likely to happen. The power of intention has become a pretty hot topic lately. There are some who believe that there is a force of attraction in nature; that like attracts like; perhaps most famously written about in The Secret. For example if you think negative thoughts, negative things will happen, or if you only focus on the positive, only the good will follow.
I have a slightly different perspective. I think of it in terms of the conscious and subconscious mind. If your goal is only rooted in your conscious mind, that means you will only be working on it when you think about your goal.
If your goal is rooted in your subconscious, however, that means you will always be working towards that goal, because your subconscious is always active.
There are three ways in which you can visualize your goals, and then by seeing them or thinking about them on a daily basis, fix them in your subconscious:
- Vision Board – a collage of images directly related to your goals. It is best to keep your vision board in a place where you can look at it regularly.
- Visualization – create a vivid mental picture of what it will look like when you achieve your goals. The subconscious doesn’t know fact from fantasy so be as creative and imaginative as you can; really see yourself in your new reality.
- SMART goals – a way of defining our goals so that they are Specific, Meaningful, Achievable, Realistic and Time-based. Having clear goals that are specific and measurable is a perfect way to set intentions.
Through hypnotherapy, we can clarify goals, and use a wide variety of techniques to create the subconscious programming needed to keep those goals in mind 24/7. Contact Michelle at 727.488.8546 to learn more today.
